Private New Year Party (31 Dec 09)

Drinkdings brings our Mobile Bar service to Bukit Timah and have a blast!  Our friendly Velvet bartender, Rudy, was a great help - mixing Long Island Tea from the available mixes in the host's house.  It was not exactly it, but even without some key ingredients, he managed to mix a decent tasting Long Island Tea!  Ten cheers for Rudy!

Here's the three of us having our champagne, thanks to our generous hosts!

Barter Vista Christmas (12 Dec 09)

Bazaar followed by dinner, all on barter! Yup, not a single cent. It was a great time to get Christmas gifts for family and friends and the Barter Vista members sure stocked up!

Held at the SAF Yacht Club, the food was catered by Four Seasons, entertainment provided by Neevrash Productions and we were might entertained by an impersonation performance by Dan Thomson. Even the lucky draw prizes were all purchased on barter!

Check out the Invitro display - we're mighty proud of the boxes because we designed them ourselves!  And the light added some brightness to the plants and made them simple irresistible!

I remember giving Dan Thomson a lift out of the Yacht Club in my little van full of the Drinkdings items. He had to crouch down in the seat in the back with his dancing platform atop his shoulders.  Quite a squeeze but we didn't have a choice as he could not get a taxi to pick him up from all the way inside the yacht club!  (It was THAT ulu).

All in all, a fun Christmas celebration with 100 Barter Vista members!

Bar Flair Show at Launch of Passion Card, Raffles Exchange (11 Nov 09)

Drinkdings was asked to showcase our bar tricks at the launch of the Passion Card at Raffles Exchange. Despite the low ceiling, our bar flairers managed to excite the crowd with their well executed moves.

We'd actually written a comprehensive script for the emcee for People's Association, BUT! the staff in charge of the event failed to give the script to the emcee. As a result, our flairers were doing all those flair moves and without any explanation, the crowd failed to fully appreciate the complexity of the move and the introcacies of the signature Passion Cocktail we were preparing.  A true waste of my time and effort in crafting that difficult technical script!  And it's not like I didn't send it to the girl in advance!

I made my unhappiness known to the gal in charge of the event.  People - do note - a script is a very important piece of paper for an event.

We serverd1000 Japanese ladies as they celebrate the visit of their well-loved Japanese star.  Organised by the Japanese Women's Association at Raffles Marina, Drinkdings was sloshed with Singapore Slings!

Poor Kat was all by herself as I was on the way back from Australia. upon touching down, it was a 40 km drive from Changi to Tuas to help in the packing up at midnight!  Quite the exciting life we lead in Drinkdings!

We taught the Energizer regional team how to mix 3 cocktails, then put them to the test to create their very own team cocktail without speaking!  But first, which I(ngredient) are you?  What do you bring to your team's cocktail?  As you can see, they had a blast!

The winning team took home a set of Drinkdings drink slogans luggage tag and a mini Stirrings cocktail mixer.

Informal Farewell Party at JP Morgan for Raj (25 Sep 09)

Raj was a lucky man as his colleague threw this informal gathering for him to give him a cool farewell after 10 years in the bank.  The lady who contacted us was excited at having us, and cited one of her friends who had met us at the SPH Beauty and Brides fair, as the first point of contact.  I guess the bridal fair did generate some awareness for us after all!

French Chamber of Commerce Networking Night (18 Sep 09)

We were invited by the two charming French owners of Rochembeaux to showcase and participate in this networking night for the French expat community in Singapore.

Coincidentally it was Kat's birthday and we'd gotten front table tickets for a Boxing match at Shangri-La (one of our friends was boxing!).  So we did a quick set up, changed into our evening gowns, left Siyuan in charge and scooted off!

It was a fairly long night, as I remember!  After the boxing match, we came back to pick up the bar stuff, met Ralph and Manua of Rochembeaux and continued partying at Never Never land!  First time in a Thai disco for both Kat and myself.  It was a LONG but terribly enjoyable night.  I still have the fox tail we picked up...I can't remember from where!

Was also the first night we met the Ralph and Manua gang of J brothers!

Here's were we met the Invitro guys and their products and decided to work with them to promote their products via our gifts channels.

And!  Minister Lee Yi Shyan took a photo with us for his Facebook, but we haven't been able to find the picture!  If any of you come across it, please let us know, or send us the pic and we'll greatly reward you with a Drinkdings product of your choice!

Fraser's Family Day (15 Aug 09)

Drinkdings was invited to st up a stall at the pool deck for Fraser's Residents Family Day.  Frasers' tenants are mainly expatriates with families and this was a good time to also promote our cocktail and mocktail workshops.  It was a cool day our at the pool deck and the Frasers tenants had a great time with games, food and drinks for the whole day.

Cocktail Class at Chong Pang CC (25 Jul 09)

Our first cocktail class with the People's Association was a hit! 26 participants gathered at Chong Pang CC (Yishun) to learn the Art of the Bar. The PA was highly supportive of this event as it was their first ever cocktail class, targetting a more hip generation, and updating the image of the Community Clubs. We look forward to more such events with the PA to widen the public's appreciation of bartending.

Civil Service Club Belgium Beer Fiesta (26 Jun 09)

Drinkdings put together this Belgium Beer Fiesta for the CSC members. We served Stella Artois, Hoegaarden and Leffe, got the Belgium embassy to loan us some flags and drop by to say a quick hi to the members and give us some insights into Belgium life. Our Belgium Beer Games were a hit with the crowd and 3 hours came too soon. The beer ended on the dot, so that was the end of the fiesta! Thankfully! If not the members would have stayed on, and on and on. Who would be willing to leave unfinished beer right?

Farm at Iluma (13 Jun 09)

Once again our troubleshooting skills are put to the test - this time to construct a bar top from some metal and string! Don't you love this job? Drinkdings served at the design initiative's, Farm, monthly designer meet up sessions. The designer crowd loved our Stirrings bottles so much they asked for the empty ones to take home! Only a designer would appreciate the design, shape and size of the bottle I guess. I hope the bottles are finding useful lives as containers or display pieces of some sort.

Shop at The British Club (11 Jun 09)

First bazaar at The British Club for Drinkdings - it was FAR! Response wasn't so good, but at least we know how to get to the club now! Getting there was a convoluted drive in. Somehow we went through the old Turf Club.

Ben's HDB Wedding (7 Jun 09)

Kudos to this lovely couple who invited us to their house to serve cocktails ... for their wedding! When people ask about our unique events, I always mention Ben and his HDB wedding. What a great idea - your closet friends and family in your house, where everyone can be themselves, stay till late and truly enjoy each other's company. All you need is love ...
We had to extend our service by a few hours as Ben's friends just couldn't get enough of our cocktails. Congratulations to the happy couple and may you have a unique and blessed journey through life together!

Unilever's Unity in Diversity (30 Apr 09)

Ice-cream unites us all indeed! and so do cocktails! This was a totally way out event. The Unilever international team were in Singapore for a corporate updates meeting and ended their week-long thinking session with this colourful event where everyone was dressed from a different country. Drinkdings served up 5 country-themed cocktails and a selection of international beers, while everyone was entertained by performers representing the different continents - snake charmers, chinese dancers, indian bhangra ...
I remember the event organiser calling us 5 times just before the event - apparently, a few performers had bailed on her and she was worried we'd not show up! We'd never do that! How unprofessional of them.

Guess what they are doing?

This was after the Unity in Diversity event we did at Chicago Booth. What in the world are they doing?

Hilary and Paulyn's Wedding at Grand Copthorne (18 Apr 09)

Our very first wedding - this lucky couple won our Mobile Bar service from Extraordinary Weddings, so we arrange to serve their guests with lots of cocktails and alcohol on their wedding night! A bonus was the singers they'd engaged for the night - I knew them! So we drank, danced and sang the night away!
Congratulations to Hilary and Paulyn!

Eerie

What could be hiding under those ghostly white sheets? This was us at the Wedding Diary Asia at Suntec. Hundreds of bottles of alcohol and nowhere to hide them! Fortunately, our booth was right at the end and we had a wall just behind us...I remember Kat using her ID skills to "floor plan" our drinks. For me, I was just thinking of winging it at the venue. But both of us were right - you do have to plan a little, or you will be caught unawares (what if we were not next to this wall, or right in the middle of the hall instead?). But at the same time, be flexible and resourceful when at the venue. That's us at Drinkdings! Always thinking on our toes!

Wedding Diary Asia at Suntec (27 Mar 09)

This was the first regional wedding show sponsored by STB and the vendors were looking forward to a good crowd. Unfortunately, the event organiser, Cosmopolitan Events, didn't plan and execute their publicity efforts well enough. We expected 10,000 visitors, we got 100. The vendors were very upset with the organisers.
Drinkdings was also caught in a bind because of this event. We too had catered for 10,000 persons. So were were left with thousands of flyers, lots of alcohol and lots of champagne cups! What a waste of effort!
Check out our other blog post to see how we tried to hide our hundreds of bottles of alcohol at the event!

The Drinkdings Gluttons!

Didn't we look liks gluttons with all this spread in front of us? We just LOVE the porridge buffet at Suntec Convention Centre. I believe Joaquim is the name! And just for the record ... YES, we finished every last morsel!

So I guess you know what we're doing when we're not at the Mobile Bar!

Crossroads Fair

That's me setting up! Drinking accessories on this side, cocktail mixers on the other and a mobile bar to boot!
The fair got really stuffy under the marquee in the afternoon, lucky for us, we had our cocktails and more importantly ice. We managed to provide welcome refreshments for the booth vendors and garner some goodwill along the way :)

Hampers Galore!

That's our stack of hampers. Christmas is a time of giving, and give indeed did our clients do. Wanna guess how many hampers there are in this stack? The anything related to drinking and party people - corporate gifts, hamper packing for wine, we've done it all! (and still doing!)
