APS Lifestyle Gallery Christmas Party for Staff (19 Dec 10)

APS invited us to serve at their annual Christmas party, and to organise the evening's programme.  The food line up was great, so were the games and we even had Santa show up to spread some Christmas cheer!  The staff loved the Christmas Bingo game, as well as the Christmas dress up and wholeheartedly participated.  It's amazing what a silver pouch of assorted materials can yield.

We learnt our lesson and arrived real early for this one.  Once again, a nice quiet event and everyone was happy. We did have quite a bit of wines and beers leftover, which Mizuho asked us to keep for the next event that we would do for them.

Mizuho Degree Night (6 Dec 10)

Mizuho invited us to serve at their networking night.  The Japanese are really punctual!  We arrived just a few minutes before the event, unfortunately, due to a terrible jam.  The boss was really nice though and he did ask why we were late and then I apologised for my mistake and he said "do better next time".  Chagrined :P

Urban Creations - Ray Ban Launch at (5 Dec 10)

Ray Ban celebrated their anniversary in grand style atop the Marina Barrage.  Unfortunately there was a slight drizzle and many guests did not turn up.  We had so much beer left over, that 2 luggage bags overflowed and broke and the counter top threatened to collapse.

China Taiping Insurance Cocktail Workshop for Agents (25 Nov 10)

Drinkdings taught these agents from China Taiping Insurance the Art of making Christmas Cocktails.  Held at Bonifacio, a mid-priced Filipino restaurant, the setting was cosy and conducive to team bonding activities.

NUSS Guild House Christmas (21 Nov 10)

An early Christmas party at the NUSS Guild House, Kent Ridge Clubhouse.  Drinkdings sold mocktail crushes and Christmas party gifts. 


We also picked up some stars from the Christmas tree to fulfill the wishes of the poorer families adopted by NUSS ... we gifted a DVD player, a watch and toiletries to 3 needy families.

We taught our first Christmas Cocktail class to the staff of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). It was a fun day out for the colleagues.

Bar Flair 101 at Tampines CC (11 Nov 10)

The participants had a great time in the carpeted auditorium of the CC, tossing and flipping their bottles and cocktail shakers.  The air-conditioned auditorium helped keep sweaty palms at bay!  At the end of the class, the guys found it tiring, but fruitful and many of them could do simple tosses on their own.

This bar flair class attracted a wider mix of participants - we had a middle-aged lady and a young lady. They all had a great time and once again, left the class with the ability to do simple tosses. A rewarding two hours indeed!

Mediacorp's Halloween Staff Night (16 Oct 10)

When we sent out our press release for our Halloween cocktail class, FHM called us back and asked if we would serve at Mediacorp's office party.  Apparently the Mediacorp team had done a great job the past year and ad sales were at an all time high - a great excuse for an office party!  We set up the Mobile Bar in one of the filming studios and served  our Halloween punch and eyeballs with Black Widow martinis.

NUSS Children's Day Carnival (9 Oct 10)

The Guild House had their members day for children.  Lots of parents and kids turned up for the events and games.  We served our mocktails and promoted our mocktail workshop for parent and child.

Amex Cocktail Workshop (1 Oct 10)

The team at Amex had a great cocktail making afternoon in Liquid Cellar along Boat Quay.  As you can see from their smiley faces, they sure had a great time bonding over alcohol!

For the team cocktail session, once team got so carried away that they made THREE cocktails just to show that they could! Well done guys!

HPB's Alcohol Abuse YAH Bloggers Workshop (25 Sep 10)

Drinkdings was invited by the Health Promotion Board to spread the word on Alcohol Education to their group of teen bloggers (also called the YAH bloggers).  We went through the various types of alcohols, drinks, effects and ... well, anything alcohol related that the teens might want to know.

It felt fulfilling, passing down knowledge and experiences of our own alcoholic youthful days :)

Children's Day Carnival at Istana Park (25 Sep 10)

Drinkdings set up booth at the Presbyterian Children's Day Carnival to raise funds.  Proceeds went to the Presbyterian church.  Unfortunately, there was not much crowd and we didn't manage to raise much funds.

Rockwell's Staff Appreciation Night (31 Aug 10)

The Rockwell Engineers and admin staff had a great time at Toucan.  Together with the Roi team, we planned and executed this wine appreciation cum buffet dinner staff appreciation night including the logistics to get the staff from Jurong to Duxton!  We also invited a sommelier from The Local Nose to share some pointers about the various wines we were serving that night and how they paired with the local good, played some wine games (that got the staff really excited) and called it a successful night when everyone went home slightly tipsy and very happy.

A note to all who organise events with pubs though - watch the alcohol the waiters pour!  The pubs will tend to charge for extra bottles opened, and if the waiters pour full glasses, they will tend to go to waste.  This is the reason why we advocate using smaller glasses for events - people tend to leave their glasses lying around after taking a sip and forget about them, and they end up getting poured away.

SAF Foundation Day at Seletar Camp - HPB's Binge Drinking Campaign (30 Jul 10)

Okay - the message from HPB to all army guys - don't binge drink!  Drinkdings conceptualised this Beer Goggles game - where the guys had to wear the beer goggles (a pair of thick plastic glasses which simulate your vision when you are drunk) and step on 5 tiles of the same colour: ALWAYS-KNOW-WHEN-TO-STOP.  As you can see, the guys were not very successful in keeping their feet within the squares!

And for those of you who are wondering, what exactly is binge drinking? If you have more than 5 drinks in one session (or 4 for ladies), you are considered to be binge drinking.  check out these links for more information on the effects of binge drinking:

NUSS Mocktail Workshop (24 Jul 2010)

Our mocktail workshop for the members of the NUSS Guild House was a hit with the ladies. Young and old, alone, with friends and with parents they came for the class and had a great time mixing 3 international cocktails!

Darren's Wedding at Novotel (17 Jul 10)

We served hundred of apple shooters to the wedding guests at Darren's wedding.  It was a grand wedding with the army march in and men in swanky uniforms (yummy!).  We also presented Darren and his friends with a bottle of whiskey for them to continue the party in their wedding suite.

Arcoroc Launch at BHG Bugis, Bar Flair and Cocktail Making Demo (17 Jul 10)

Arc launched their new series of glassware at BHG and invited Drinkdings to put up a bar flair and cocktail making demonstration to showcase the use of the glasses (no we didn't flair with the glasses).

The crowd loved the cocktail and mocktail samples we handed out and gathered curiously when the flair show started.

OCS Social Night at the Army Museum (16 Jul 10)

The officers of Officer Cadet School invited Drinkdings to serve cocktails at their socia night.  The venue, while far, was lovely, with the function room overlooking the large pond in the middle.  Contrary to popular belief that army boys drink a lot, the officers hardly touched our cocktails - perhaps they were trying to impress their dates...

Apart from a few who happily picked up the bottles with leftover alcohols at the end of the night, it was a slow night for the bar.

A surprise party for the birthday girl who returned from Europe that very evening, planned by her close friends - the cocktail class and tongue twisters were a hit with every one.  The group added their own twist by getting the readers to sit on the UGallop while they twisted their tongues!

Rae Lynn's Fairy Birthday Party and Mocktail Workshop (11 Jul 10)

Our first children's birthday party for 6-year-old Rae Lynn.  Fairy themed with fairy dust and fairy wings, the girls were dressed in pastel fairy outfits, while we decked out the boys in little elves costumers and elfin hoods.  From concept to door gifts to glitter and handmade fairies wings and fairy games, we planned a fairy mocktail class for the children too.  That part really got their attention!

Wilhenseim Regional Get Together - a Hell's Angels Evening (6 Jul 10)

Originally slated for June, Wilhelmsen had to postpone this staff gathering of theirs to July because of the volcanic eruption in Europe that made air travel impossible for the company's overseas staff.  The evening had us as the Mobile Bar, with a special appearance by the Harley Davidson group, staff wearing tattoo arm sleeves and bandannas and live rock performances.

The team at P&G loved the workshop so much they invited us to do another round with 3 different drinks for another team of colleagues.  We're honoured!

4-Yr-Old Chalet Birthday at East Coast (12 Jun 10)

This birthday party was held for a 4-year old - we're not sure who enjoyed themselves more - the parents and their friends or the birthday girl!  They did have a magic show for kids earlier, but as the evening wore on, it was the cocktails that took centrestage.

And as you can see, everyone started getting comfortable with the Mobile Bar after a while.

Adidas Kids Fashion Show by Jay Gee (4 Jun 10)

To launch their kids fashion for the World Cup, Jay Gee (distributor for Adidas) held a kids fashion show at Takashimaya.  The kids were sweet, but the mocktails sweeter!

Here's Drinkdings at the River Market along Clarke Quay Central.  I just love the way the sun changes the colours of everything when it sets.  The reflection from the river probably has something to do with the majestic colours the waning sun tumbles on the stalls, items and people.  Check out the lovely change of colours in these pictures.

Liz Claiborne launched their summer collection by serving Summer Martinis to their invited guests.  The 2-hour launch with fashion show and cocktails was a hit with the ladies.

Cocktail Teambuilding for MAS Accounts Dept (4 Mar 10)

Here's the MAS team at their staff retreat.  After a morning of teambuilding exercises, they ended the day with a cocktail teambuilding session by Drinkdings.  The cocktails really got the team together and the class got more exciting towards the end where each team had to present their own team cocktail.

Dating Fiesta Cocktail Workshop for 100 Singles! (20 Feb 10)

Dating Fiesta introduced the cocktail workshop for singles and got 80 to sign up!  Somehow, the event attracted more ladies and guys and the guys must have had a great session being flanked by 2 ladies each! Check out the photos to see the "antics" when "guy meets gal"...

Filipino Fort Fiesta at Fort Canning (7 Feb 10)

Drinkdings sells mocktail crushes at the Filipino Fort Fiesta, with proceeds to the St Vincent De Paul Society for the poor.  Thanks to David, we did not have enough manpower to carry the drinks and hotdogs!  David, David, when are you gonna stop being an idealist and think you are superman? hahah...setting up wasn't easy because of the hilly slope too and more hands would have been much appreciated.


Too bad for the organisers, the crowd was insufficient - the set up, band, performers and stalls did their part. Not sure if there is gonna be another Filipino Fort Fiesta :(

Swettenham Birthday (6 Feb 10)

This home at Swettenham was decked out reminiscent of an indolent boudoir - perfect for the ladies who were celebrating a friend's birthday.  Prior to cocktails, the ladies were pampered with nail spas and massages.  Way to go for the birthday girl!

This was Bradley's first Mobile Bar and he did a fair job. We got the size of the Tuna Puffs wrong though and had to do some messy cutting during the event :(

NUSSU Bash 2010 (31 Jan 10)

It was a LONG night as we set up the bar for "Blackout' at the F1 pit.  The party animals undergrads are, we ended at a cool 4am.  By the time we stacked and heaved, it was 5am and we were spent!


Our team of 10 bartenders did a great job keeping the drinks flowing.  We server undergrad favs - Tequila Pop, Lychee Martinis and Watermelon Martinis.  Was a night to be remembered.


And this time, Kat was holidaying in some resort, leaving me to deal with the two events - through a stroke of good fortune that frequently befalls Drinkdings, they happened to be both at the F1 pit!  It was a LARGE area, but at least, I could just walk up and down and didn't have to drive to another venue!

Chingay 2009 - Samba Festival at the F1 Pit (30 Jan 10)

Just nice, we had 2 events that day at the same location! (Phew!)  Kat was not in town and it was up to me to hold the fort (literally!)


Here's the mobile bar at the F1 Pit for the Chingay Parade. Set up was from 3pm, though the Chingay was only due to begin at 8. What a long long wait.

PA's Samba Chingay Rehearsal, Take One! (9 Jan 10)

This marks the first Samba Chingay rehearsal and Drinkdings sets up a mobile bar to cater to the participants and the organisers.  We were, unfortunately, on the wrong end of the field!  While sales at the bar were slow, we managed to enjoy the Samba beat, so altogether, not a total loss!
